Background
Shelfstore UK Ltd is
a London based shelving company. When they first approcahed
us they had a succesful retail outlet at Finchley Road.
Over the last two years, with our help, they have grown
to become one of the UK’s premier online shelving
specialist, offering endless solutions using 294 quality
shelving components.
Problem
Once the initial search engine
marketing campaign was in full swing, two issues became
apparent:
Firstly, just how do you promote endless combinations
of shelving on a website? A standard ecommerce system
simply would not be up to the task.
A second issue also needed consideration. In the past,
a team of specialists were required to measure up and
design tailored shelving systems using traditional drafting
methods. This was a long and laborious task and a significant
issue that needed to be overcome. As orders increased,
it became increasingly apparent that the timely supply
of these designs would struggle to meet demand.
It soon became clear that something fun and novel was
required in order to convert this aspect of the sales
process from a pain staking task to an entertaining part
of the shopping process.
Solution
Shelfstore now have a very strong
online store that is integrated with an extremely efficient
and effective back office system. Working together with
Purple Coral, one of our development partners, we have
been able to ensure that all of their requirements have
been met.
Though the use of leading edge search engine optimisation
techniques and a unique wizard based website that is second
to none, all considerations were satisfied. The end solution
was attractive, powerful and extremely scalable.
The Shelfstore site has now become a top online shelving
destination. Customers can now design and build their
own shelving units, in 3D, online. Online sales now dwarf
traditional retail sales.
